Your pension account is designed to benefit you during your retirement. What happens if you pass away with funds remaining in your account? Did you know that you could name a charity like We Save Animals as a beneficiary to that account? Did you also know that your heirs may have to pay both income tax and estate tax on the money in your retirement account should you pass away before all the funds are disbursed? Retirement Accounts are tax-deferred, meaning that income tax is not paid on the funds in the account, until those funds are distributed. Because We Save Animals is a tax exempt organization, distribution from your retirement account to We Save Animals would be tax free. This option has the added benefit to your estate and heirs as the value of the contribution reduces the taxable estate. To designate We Save Animals as a beneficiary of your retirement or pension account simply request and fill out a beneficiary account form from your retirement fund manager.
